Tea Time!
Chloe, Auntie Ang, and Alicia went to 150 Mile House for tea whilst the boys went on their second annual overnight campout in the woods. Chloe was thrilled with the "goodies" and "treats". A special thyme indeed! (You have to study the name of the place to get that pun...)

A visit from Hodgins'...
Shannon, Jason, and Kiera came up to PG for an overnight visit last week - cutie, eh? Jason and Chloe had a good time doing puzzles, and the adults had a great time getting to know one another - again. Come visit anytime, guys!

A day at the lake...
Some friends from church invited us out to Purden Lake last weekend - a good time on the beach and in the boat. Joel and Chloe's first trip in a small craft - loved it!

Extreme Makeover?
We decided a facelift was needed on our humble abode this summer. Here's what it looked like when we moved in a couple years ago:
After some tree/shrub removal:
With some painting done...
All tidied up!
Now just a bit of landscaping to do...and then...(it never ends, does it!)

At the Nelsons...
Time on the Island is different than on the Mainland - but each has its own benefits. Mom and Dad Nelson's new pad is great, and we enjoyed sitting out on it - in awe of the view and the quiet. After our Victoria jaunt, we kept pretty close to home - riding bikes, reading, chatting, eating well, and visiting with cousins. The kids had a great time with my cousin Brody and Lauren (very confusing to them - as they are more their age!).
One of our few departures from 4100 York Rd was to the speedway's go-carts - they were a blast. Joel and I saddled up together and blew the doors off all competitors! :)

Victoria
Kinda felt guilty arriving in Campbell River, leaving our kids and heading to Victoria - but guilt gave way pretty easily to enjoyment as we walked, wandered, and ate/drank our way about lovely Victoria! We love parking the car and enjoying the beauty and shops in our province's capital and look forward to it each year! Thanks Ma an Pa Nelson for keeping this tradition alive...

At the Wrays
We spent a week at the Wray's this summer - and it was a great time to get away and relax! We enjoyed some great meals together and visited with parts of the fam we don't see as often. Chloe had a great time playing with great Nana - some activities can bridge the gap of 80+ years!
Alicia and I had a great time during this week - "going out on the town" nightly to Burnaby mountain, Ambleside Beach, coffee and desserts, etc. Some great memories that we have already revisited! Thanks to Mom and Dad Wray for freeing us up to spend this time together.

Playland
Alicia and I are those kind of parents who, when their kids ask to ride various mall rides, say, "nope". So we had some pretty dazed kids the day we entered the gates of that land of play...
"We can go on any of these?"
"We can go again?"
"And again? Really?"
Nice to be able to treat them to an afternoon just for them! (And Sammy just looked on...one day buddy!)

PYPies Reunion
Some of Alicia's youth group pals have reconnected on Facebook (arrrg) of late and organized a bit of a reunion at a park in PoCo.
Here's Heather (youth leader), Yvette (honorary member)...
And here's Shannon (Alicia's maid of honor) and her daughter (Kiera)...
